“EoT promotes engineering apprenticeships to young people interested in a career in the electronic security sector. The competition is fun and encourages their employers to appreciate them as a valuable asset within their organisations.”

Simon Banks, Founder and Group Managing Director, CSL

The Engineers of Tomorrow competition, which sees young engineers and apprentices compete against each other in a live installation challenge, returned to IFSEC International this year for the 20th time.

This year the competition  took a further step towards tackling the the growing engineering skills gap by adding a live installation challenge for fire apprentices, as well as for those from the security sector, following a successful trial in 2017. Taking place over three days at London ExCeL, the competition pitted more than 60 young engineers – working in teams of two – against each other.  The top five teams of the overall competition that took place over IFSEC and FIREX have been invited to the Security & Fire Excellence Awards in November, where the winning places will be announced. The winner will claim a £1,000 prize.

Winners to be announced at the Security & Fire Excellence Awards on Wednesday 21 November, London Hilton.
